Here at the YMCA we've been building strong kids and strong families for over 160 years. We know how important it is for Kiwi kids to live active, healthy lives, learning fundamental movement and water safety skills that will benefit them throughout their whole lives. Our range of programmes support kids of all ages and stages to move their bodies and learn skills through a fun and supportive environment.
We believe every child deserves an equal opportunity, therefore, YMCA kids programmes can be funded through Variety - the Children's Charity, so all kids can use our services such as swim school, children's term-time programmes - gymnastics, dance or sports leagues, and school camps.
Variety- the Children's Charity, gives New Zealand children the happier, healthier childhood they deserve.

YMCA swim schools teach structured progressions with a strong emphasis on swimming skills and water safety. Our aim is to build skills and awareness that will teach Kiwis how to stay safe in our beaches, lakes and rivers at any age. Lessons are fun and supportive, conducted at each child's own pace and ability.
Through our gymnastics and dance programmes, children learn a wide range of fundamental movement skills that will support them to be happy and active.
Not just a way to keep moving, children learn teamwork and communication skills, and grow their confidence and fitness through being part of a team. A great way to stay active and have fun.
Overnight camps are a staple part of growing up in New Zealand. Creating lifelong memories, camps build confidence, resilience, and allow children to experience the great outdoors in a safe and supportive environment.
Children going to YMCA camps get a chance to experience Aotearoa's natural surroundings and spend time with their friends away from their busy everyday lives, learning about themselves as well as the great outdoors.
