Every community deserves a hero.
Here at YMCA we’re lucky enough to have Jill Gibson, centre manager at Mt Albert Community & Leisure Centre and a YMCA employee for 20 years.
For two decades, Jill has done an incredible amount of work to help local kids and families. From getting people active, to giving teens their first job or running great community events out of the Mt Albert YMCA, Jill has worked tirelessly to lift us all up.
Now Jill’s on a mission to get more kids active. And with rising child obesity rates1, and growing concern about the amount of screen time for young children2, the need to foster a lifelong love of recreation and outdoor play is greater than ever.
You can help Jill and the Mt Albert YMCA achieve that dream by voting for her in the Westfield St Lukes Local Heroes competition. With your vote, Jill and the Mt Albert YMCA team could receive a $10,000 grant from Westfield to run free recreation programmes in low income schools in the Mt Albert area.

So if you have a few spare minutes, please cast a vote for our local hero – Jill Gibson, the superwoman who’s on a mission to do super things for our local kids.
