Maungakiekie-Tāmaki youth are being urged to have a say in issues affecting their local area by participating in an online survey organised by the Onehunga YMCA Raise Up youth crew.
The survey, funded by the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board, seeks youth perspective on issues such as public transport, employment opportunities, sport and recreational facilities and community and cultural connections.
Kev Carter, coordinator of YMCA Raise Up, says understanding local youth issues, interests and priorities is an important part of strengthening local communities.
“The survey will enable us to advise the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board on issues important to young people and will help shape a three year local board plan.”
Youth aged 13-18 living in Onehunga, Glen Innes, Mt Wellington, Penrose, Panmure, Royal Oak and One Tree Hill are encouraged to complete the short survey by visiting surveymonkey.com/r/S5Z3WMJ. The survey is open until mid-March.
