The Y currently operate 10 of Auckland Council’s pools and leisure centres across Auckland. As the result of a competitive procurement process, Auckland Council has approved new contracts for its centres.

The Y will continue to operate seven centres from April 2025.

These are:

  • Glen Innes Pool and Leisure Centre
  • Lagoon Stadium
  • Lagoon Pool and Leisure Centre
  • Sir William Jordan Recreation Centre
  • Onehunga War Memorial Pool and Leisure Centre
  • Ellerslie Recreation Centre
  • Massey Leisure Centre

Cameron Pool and Leisure Centre, Lynfield Youth and Leisure Centre and Mount Albert Community and Leisure Centre will be managed by Community Leisure Management (CLM) from April 2025.

Peter Fergusson, Interim Chief Executive Officer, states:

This is a reflection of our strong partnership that has now seen The Y deliver services and support to local communities across Auckland for almost 200 years – a notable accomplishment for one of New Zealand’s iconic and much-loved charities.
