Water safety is such an important part of life in a country where oceans and rivers are everywhere you look. The Y (formerly known as YMCA) provide a variety of options across water safety education and swimming lessons to best fit what your group is needing to get out of it. Programmes can be focused on either swimming lessons or water safety – or both elements can be integrated into one cohesive programme.
Community group or school swimming lessons can be tailored for whatever ages and abilities are at play – as well as any other group-related requirements. These can range from basic learn to swim lessons to more fitness-oriented sessions for older students.
If it’s water safety lessons you’re after, our programme can involve any combination of focuses – from pool safety to beach safety to life jacket usage. The scheduling of the sessions is very flexible too – whether you want to have one lesson a week over a number of weeks, or have an intensive programme of daily lessons. Our aquatic education specialists are happy to work with you to organise something that best suits your needs – and those of your young people!

No matter what the weather, we have indoor heated pools perfect for swimming all year round. Our purpose built facilities are designed for ease of use with wheelchair access, baby change tables and family changing rooms situated readily on poolside.
Free Assessments
Before you begin lessons with us we offer a free assessment to ensure your child is in the right level for their development. Throughout the programme children are continually assessed and will be moved up once they have achieved the level goals requirements.
