Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the cost of camp?

We offer food, accommodation, outdoor activities, transportation, 24-hour care, and unforgettable experiences across five days and four nights.

What are the transport options?

As part of the cost of camp, we offer a bus that stops at Vector Wero in Manukau, and in Mt Albert. When registering in AimyPlus, the transport option must be selected before completing the booking.

What activities are there at Camp Adair?

Camp Adair has hundreds of acres of land with over thirty activities spread across the property. The Wairoa River runs through the middle of our site, and in it we run activities like kayaking, raft building, and tubing & river safety. On the land, we run activities like team challenges, confidence course, and archery. We also love to give campers a real taste of outdoor living through building bivouacs or tents, running campfires, and cooking in the bush. Of course, we also have a number of activities for the adventure-seekers with our high ropes. We have activities like the high beam, cargo climb, islands in the sky, and more!

What age ranges are Jump, Discover, and Explore?

We have three age brackets for holiday campers. Our youngest age group is between 6 and 8, this is our Jump group. The next group is Discover, aged 9 to 11. Our Explore group is the oldest age group we offer, for campers aged 12 to 14.

Can my children share a cabin with each other/their friends?

Yes, your campers can share a cabin provided they are the same gender and in the same age group. When registering for the holiday camp in AimyPlus, add a 'note' to the booking with the cabin share request.

How are the cabin and activity groups decided?

Our staff will group the campers based on their age group and who has requested to be in the same groups.

Does Camp Adair support subsidies for holiday camps?

Yes, we are an MSD-accredited organisation and support a number of different subsidy options. We also offer two tiers of prices to allow all families the opportunity to come to camp.
Please ensure any subsidy requests, such as ones made through Work and Income, are made well in advance, if possible, so that we receive payment before the start of camp.

Can I visit my camper while they are at Camp Adair?

We highly discourage visits to camp as it disrupts the camp's activities and can be distressing for other campers who are unable to have visitors. You can arrange a call with your camper if you would like to contact them.

Can I call my camper while they are at Camp Adair?

Yes, you are welcome to schedule a time to talk to your camper. You can choose to provide a phone that your camper can use to call you or schedule a phone call using our camp phone. We do recommend that calls home are limited to avoid homesickness.
Please be aware that we do not allow the use of devices outside of scheduled calls home, and phones will be kept safe by the staff during holiday camp.
