Joining The Y family from October 2024, the Beach Haven centre has a new name, with the same great team - so you can be sure of excellent quality learning and care for your children.
We believe that the inclusion of our family and community are an integral part of every child's development. Therefore our teachers take every opportunity to communicate with our whanau/ extended whanau (verbally and through Story Park), in order to build those long life relationships that build trust and unity over the coming years.

Our Curriculum
Our early childhood curriculum follows the Te Whariki Early Childhood Curriculum, set by the Ministry of Education. From this we want our children to become competent, confident learners, who are healthy in their mind, body and spirit. We also want them to realise that they make a contribution to society that is valued.

Our environment supports nature both inside and outside – located within a large park space with a range of different landscapes, we have easy access to the wider world, with an arts and craft area, a range of books and a block space to enable children to explore and discover what they’ve seen outside.
Strength & success!
We're strong believers in the power of free play and play-based learning. That's why you won't see many 'typical' toys or structured activities when you walk into our spaces. We set tamariki up with real, everyday objects and natural play materials, and leave it up to them to choose what interests them. We help them to develop their imaginations and explore the environment around them. Children love moving and being physically active is an important part of everyday life.

Beachhaven has a variety of play areas - access to playing fields and wide-open spaces. We're situated in the beautiful Shepherd's Park. We have a large outdoor space, a covered sandpit, playgrounds, bush walks and plenty of parking
