It’s fun to work at the Y!

We are looking for a Head Referee to join our team based at Massey Leisure Centre in Massey. This is a great part time role offering a minimum of 20 hours per week!

What will you be doing?

  • Deliver ongoing training to the Sports Leagues team to ensure high standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Monitor the daily performance of Sports Leagues staff acknowledging success and good performance and provide coaching when performance falls outside the desired standards as identified in the YMCA Policies and Procedures Manual
  • In the absence of a Referee, officiate the games in the Sports Leagues
  • Provide the league teams with support and information on YMCA activities and programmes
  • Set up stadium as outlined as instructed by the Sports League Coordinator including helping other staff members pack up a previous programme equipment
  • Provide assistance to the referees as and when required

What experience/skills do you need?

  • Minimum six months experience in a Customer Service role
  • Minimum six months experience in a Senior Referee capacity
  • Knowledge of the recreation and fitness industry desirable but not essential
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Current First Aid Certificate (desirable)
